Boiler installation

How Long Does a New Boiler Installation Take?

Most people want to know one thing before booking: how long will I be without heating and hot water? The honest answer depends on the job, but here’s what to expect.

At a glance

  • A like-for-like combi swap is usually around a day.
  • Changing type or moving the boiler takes longer — often two.
  • System conversions and awkward locations add time.
  • We plan the job so you’re not left without heat or hot water overnight.

A straight swap

Replacing a combi with a new combi in the same place is typically a single day. Most of that is careful work: removing the old unit, fitting and connecting the new one, and commissioning it properly.

A more involved job

Changing boiler type, moving it to a new location, or converting a conventional system to a combi means new pipework and more labour — usually two days, sometimes more for larger homes.

What happens on the day

We give a clear method statement on arrival, protect your floors, and work cleanly. Every install is commissioned, tested and Gas Safe certified before we leave, and the new boiler registered for its warranty.

Keeping disruption down

We plan the sequence so you’re not left without heat or hot water overnight where we can help it, and we’ll tell you honestly up front how long yours will take.
